Chlamydia medication question?
I was prescribed azithromycin (zithromaz/z-pak) for chlamydia and was told to take these four pills one each day, i believe they are 250mg each I would assume. I have been reading up on this medication as I do with everything I take and EVERY site about chlamydia says that you should take one single large dose of zithromaz of 1g, even if you have to take multiple pills to get the dose high enough. Im not sure what to do, and I called the clinic I went to to ask them if I should take the pills every day or the one big dose like i read and they wouldnt help me saying they didnt want to assist me in trying to self medicate or something. I know your supposed to follow Dr. orders but these people arent the sharpest when working at these low budget clinics and I am afraid that if I do the smaller 250mg a day dose it will not sure my infection, but also if I do the 1g dose can i overdose? What would be the best way to take this medication, or does it not matter? Is this all I need to do cause it just seems too easy of a treatment for a STD?
